Paul “Bud” Miller Former Easton Policeman, Dies
Sgt. Paul H. (Bud) Miller, 56 of 216 Palmer St., a member of the Easton Police Department since 1941, died at 1 p.m. today at his home after a long illness.
Sgt. Miller was appointed patrolman on Dec. 1. 1941. In February 1952 he was promoted to sergeant. He was on sick leave since June.
A native of Easton, Sgt. Miller attended Easton High School. He played baseball at Easton High School and with Easton in semi-pro East Pen League. He played first base.
His father, Arch I. Miller was a former lieutenant in Easton police.
SSgt. Miller received a number of department commendations including one in October 1961 when he disarmed a despondent man with a shotgun. He was commended by the mayor and City Council for that action.
In August 1966 he was commended for apprehending a car thief, which later led to the solution of seven other auto thefts.
Among his survivors are his widow, the former Kathryn Terleski; four children, Frederick, Michael, Barbara, and Susan and four brothers, Robert J. James and Richard all of Easton, and arch, Pennypacker Circle, near Hatboro.
