H. RUSSELL MERWARTH, NEUROLOGIST, FORMERLY LIVED IN EASTON
Dr. H. Russell Merwarth, 89, of Garden City, Long Island, N.Y., formerly of Easton, died Aug. 20 in the U.S. Veterans Hospital, Brooklyn. He was the husband of the late Isabel (Holmes) Merwarth.
He was a neurologist and psychologist at Presbyterian Hospital, New York, and was a lecturer and teacher at New York University, Columbia University, Methodist Hospital and Kings County Hospital, New York City, until retiring.
He also was a consulting neurologist at 10 hospitals on Long Island, and had served as chief of neuropsychiatric services at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Oakland, Calif. He wrote articles for New York medical journals.
Local survivors include two sisters, Mildred of Bethlehem and Elizabeth of Easton, and a brother Charles of Pen Argyl.
