Deacon Michael P. McGouldrick age 77 of Bethlehem Twp. Passed
away Friday Nov. 10, 2006 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain
Hill.
Husband of *****, they were married
53 years last Nov. 29th. Milly fondly remembers their first
meeting four years earlier while they were roller skating.
Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Clarence and
Ellen (Rowe) McGouldrick.
Mike worked at Bethlehem steel for 44 years in various positions
and retired as a foreman.
He also went to school for television repair and was a TV repairman
part-time.
He served in the Army as a Staff Sgt during the Korean War.
Mike was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church
in Bethlehem Twp and at Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth.
He was ordained a Deacon on May 19, 1990. He just completed
1 ½ year study of the faculty to marry.
His Primary Ministry was at Gracedale and his Secondary Ministry
was at Holy Family Catholic Church.
He was a scout master for 10 years, ran the Bingo for 10 Years
at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. And was a member of the Bethlehem
Steel Club.
Mike loved history and the history of the Civil War. His hobbies
included trains, and camping.
He loved the “All you can Eat” at Shady Maples,
and was sure to always arrive before 3PM.
Mike had the philosophy that no challenge was too great. He
even built his home 47 years ago and said that it is still
a work in progress.
Mike was predeceased in death by his son Dennis, grandson
Joey McGouldrick, and Sibling(s) Ellen and Clarence McGouldrick.
Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM , Saturday November 18 at Our
Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Rd Bethlehem.
Viewing Friday night 7-9 PM at the church and Saturday morning
9:15-9:45 AM in the church. Entombment to follow in the Mausoleum
at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
