Eastonian’s Body Found In Woods
Russell Mack’s Remains Hanging From Tree
The body of Russell V. Mack, 28, of 249 Northampton Street,
was found at 10 a.m. today hanging from a tree in a small woods
near the residence of Chester Lohman, along the upper road
between Johnsonville and Bangor.
He was reported missing to Easton police this morning by his
brother, Lester Mack, of the same address. The brother said
Russell Mack has been missing since 8:30 p.m. last Sunday.
Lester Mack said he knew of no reason for his brother’s
disappearance.
Dr. D.F. Bachman, Northampton County coroner, who attributed
the death to suicide, said the act was committed between 4
p.m. and 7 p.m. yesterday.
He said Russell Mack was formerly a resident of Johnsonville.
The family moved to Easton about 15 years ago. Russell Mack,
a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ferman Mack was employed at
the Easton Heights cemetery. |
