Oscar Mack
Oscar Mack, a rural mail carrier for the past 25 years and
a well-known and respected resident of Flicksville, Washington
Township, died yesterday afternoon at his home there, of a
complication of diseases, aged 56 years. He was born in Flicksville
and was a son of Mrs. Pauline and the late Jacob Mack. Mr.
Mack was a member of the National Letter Carriers’ Association,
the Northampton County Rural Carriers’ Association, the
knights of the Golden Eagle, of Flicksville and the First M.
E. church, Bangor.
His widow, Mrs. Anna Lockard Mock, survives him with four
sons and one daughter, Arthur A., Greensburg, Pa.; Warren B.,
of State College; Virgil D., Flicksville; Merrill J. Amherst,
Mass, and Miss Evelyn at home. He also leaves his mother Mrs.
Pauline Mack, of Bangor, aged 79, and three brothers and fives
sisters, Herman, of Easton; Elmer, Ackermansville; Herbert,
Stier’s Upper Mt. Bethel; Mrs. Burton Brodt, Easton;
Mrs. Frank Meyers, Bethlehem; Mrs. William Bird, and Mrs. John
Datesman, Bangor and Mrs. Raymond Cornelius, Philadelphia.
Four grandchildren also survive.
The funeral will be held on Thursday at 2:20 p.m. daylight
saving, with all services at his late home. Rev. James Cunningham,
of Frackville, a former pastor of the Bangor M.E. church, and
Rev. Clarence Howell, the present pastor, will conduct the
services. Interment in St. John’s Reformed cemetery,
Bangor.
