Stanley "Jim" Lum, Dance Band Director
Stanley "Jim" E.A. Lum 74 of 155 Ann St., Easton,
died yesterday in Easton Hospital where he was admitted Thursday.
He directed his own dance band, The Jim Lum Orchestra, for
40 years for clubs and social activities. He played saxophone,
clarinet and trumpet.
For 30 years he was associated with his father in the wholesale
candy business. His father, Joseph A. Lum, died July 3, at
the age of 99.
Recently, Mr. Lum was a self-employed accountant.
He was born in Glendon on June 8, 1902. His late mother was
the former Ada M Garis.
Mr. Lum was graduated from Easton High School in 1920 and
attended Lafayette College.
He was a lifetime member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ,
Easton. In 1974 he became a 50-year member of Dallas Lodge
396, F&AM, Easton. He was a life member of Easton Lodge
121, Elks, and a member of Lodge 45, Loyal Order of Moose,
Easton.
Surviving are his widow, the former Hazel Shimer; two sons,
***** of New York City and ***** of Palmer Township,
and two granddaughters.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday in the Strunk Funeral
Home, Easton. Interment will be in Hay's cemetery. |
