Harry Levers, 73, Dies in Hospital
Harry Levers, 73, years old of 221 West Lafayette Street, for many years employed as a caretaker of lawns and heating plants on College Hill, died at 5:45 this morning in warren Hospital, Phillipsburg, of obstruction of the bowels. He was taken ill last evening and at 7:30 was removed t the hospital.
He was born in Easton on April 15, 1870, a son of the late Samuel and Sarah Levers. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Barbara Levers, two children, Francis Levers, of 221 Lafayette Street, and Mrs. Lester McMackin, of Reading; by a sister, Mrs. Samuel R. Evans of 324 High Street, a half-brother, Jacob E. Hester, of 406 McCartney Street, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, George.
He recently retired from business and was succeeded by his son, Francis. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran church, College Hill, Easton Aerie No. 111, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Easton Lodge, No. 25, Loyal Order of Moose; Tatamy Council No. 159, O.U. A. M. of this city. |
