Harry Dilts, Viola Dilts, Fire victims
Harry “Chub” Dilts, 83, and Viola M. Dilts, 75, of Finesville, died Monday Jan 13, when fire Swept through their home.
He was last employed as a sampleman for the former Riegel Paper Corp. for 34 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the company’s Quarter Century Club. Many years ago, he owned and operated a general store in Finesville for four years.
Born Nov. 15, 1913, in Finesville, he was a son of the late Frank and Charlotte Apgar Dilts. Born Oct 13, 1921, in Finesville, she was a daughter of the late Levi and Mabel Robeson Laubach.
They were members of the Finesville United Methodist Church where she served on various committees.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Huntington Fire Co. in Warren Glen Station.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a life member of the Disabled Veterans.
He was a life member of Local 1712 United Paper Workers Union in Warren Glen.
He was a member of American Association of Retired Persons.
He was one of the original members of the former Southern Pohatcong Playground Association.
His hobby was bottle collecting.
Mr. Fine and his wife, the former Viola M. Laubach, observed their 51st wedding anniversary in April 1996.
The are survived by a son, ***** of Finesville; a daughter, ***** of Finesville; and four grandchildren, and two great0grandchildren. They are also survived by Mrs. Fine’s two half sisters, Elsie Burd of Trenton and Helen Getz of Pen Argyl; and Mr. Fine’s two brothers, Darmon of Easton and Melvin of Holland Township and is sister, Edith Vernon of Finesville.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday from the Robert W. Snyder Funeral Home, 327 Easton Road, Riegelsville, Call 10 a.m. Friday to time of services in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Riegelsville Union Cemetery. |
