E. M. Kressler retired Riegel Paper employee
Elwood M. Kressler, 78, of Finesville, N.J.., a retired employee of the Riegel Paper Corp., died today at 7:45 a.m. in Warren hospital after a brief illness. He was admitted on Tuesday.
Mr. Kressler worked at the Riegelsville, N.J. mill of the paper company for 47 years and was pensioned on Aug. 1, 1937.
Born in Finesville, and a lifelong resident of that community, he was a son of the late James and Mary Laubach Kressler.
He was a member of Finesville Methodist Church, a trustee of the church for three years, and financial secretary and a lay delegate of the Newark Methodist Conference at the time of his death. Mr. Kressler also was a member of the Riegel Old-Times Club, and served at one time as vice president of that group.
Surviving are his wife, the former Emily Frances Tinsman; a son, Earle, of Washington Crossing; a daughter Mrs. Harold Ingraham, of Fairlawn, N.J.; a foster daughter, Mrs. Christina Raphaels, of Brooklyn and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the residence, Sunday at 2 p.m. at the residence, with the Rev. R. Wesley Smith, pastor of Finesville and Bloomsbury Methodist Churches, officiating, Interment will be in Riegelsville Union cemetery, Bucks County. |
