J. Shively Kiefer Dies at age 95
Retired Stone Mason Lived at Raubsville
J. Shively Kiefer, a retired stone mason, died suddenly at 8:30 this morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Horne at Raubsville. He had a slight cold several weeks ago but recovered and chatted pleasantly with Mr. Horne this morning shortly before he died.
Mr. Kiefer was on of the oldest men in Northampton County and was 95 years of age of Feb 4. he died in the house in which he was born and was a son of the late John and Sarah Kiefer. He had been living with Mr. and Mrs. Horne since Oct 29, 1940.
He had not worked at his trade for 20 years. His only near surviving relative, is a sister, Mrs. Elmer Smith of College Hill, Easton. Edward Kiefer of 19 Elder Street this city is a nephew of the deceased.
Mr. Kiefer was a member of the Raubsville Methodist church and unity Order, Knights of Humanity of Raubsville.
The funeral will be held on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Horne. Interment in Raubsville Cemetery. The Rev William F Rodda will officiate.
