Victor Hummer, 53, Baker at Schaible's
Victor H. Hummer, 53, of 32 S. Raspberry St., Easton was dead on arrival
this morning at the General Hospital of Monroe County.
He was stricken while visiting at the home of his son, *****, East
Stroudsburg R.D.4.
Mr. Hummer was a baker in the production department at Schaible
Bakery, the last 19 years.
Born in Easton, on Nov 27, 1921, he was a son of the late Wilmer
and Mary Beam Hummer. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He
received the Purple Heart in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a member of Bible Fellowship Church, Easton; Fox-Eichelberger
Post 7415, VFW, New Cumberland; Rice Ebner Post 611, American Legion,
and Amvets Post 17, both of Easton.
Survivors include his widow Sarah L. Everitt Hummer; two other sons,
a daughter, a brother, Andrew, Portland; three sisters, Mrs. Paul
Trauger Jr., Mrs. Eva Wanamaker ane Mrs. Helen Stanko, all of Phillipsburg,
and 10 grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Katinis Funeral
Chapel, Wilson. Interment will be in Hay's Cemetery.
