Laurenta H. kernan, taught at Liberty
Laurenta H. Kernan, 90, of Bethlehem died Thursday Nov. 22, at St. Lukes’ Hospital.
She was an English teacher at Liberty High School in Bethlehem for 13 years retiring in 1976.
Born May 1, 1911, in Shimersville, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Austin D. and Florence Knecht Heller.
She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Bethlehem.
She was a 1931 graduate of Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass.
She was a member of Fortnightly Reading Club and guide at Kemmerer Museum of Decorative Arts.
Her husband, Frank T., died in 1963.
She is survived by a daughter, ****, with whom she resided; and nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Henry K. and Howard A., died earlier
Services will be private. There will be no calling hours.
Burial will be in Nisky Hill Cemetery in Bethlehem.
The John F. Herron Funeral Home, 458 Center St., Bethlehem, is in charge of arrangements. |
