Alan "Pops" H. Griffin, Jr., 69, of Johnson City, Tn, died Wednesday, January 26, 2004 in the Johnson City Medical Center.
Born: He was a son of the late Alan H., Sr. and Margaret Flenard Griffin.
Personal: His wife, the former Barbara Blackett, died in 1999.
Pops was a native of Finesville, NJ, was a former resident of Las Vegas, Nevada for six years, and had resided in Johnson City since 2000. He was a retired calibration engineer with the Roche Pharmaceutical Company. He was of the Lutheran faith.
Memberships: He was a member and former chief with the Riegelsville Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors:
He is survived by a son, **** of Johnson City, Tn; a daughter, ***** and her husband, ***** of Johnson City, Tn; two grandchildren, ***** of Ponte Verda Beach, Fl, **** of St. Augustine, Fl; and four great grandchildren.
A son, Dale and a niece, Lynda Chippoletti, died earlier.
Services: The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Morris-Baker North Chapel with Chaplain Richard Willis officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. Cremation will follow after the services. These arrangements are by the Morris-Baker Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2001 Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, Tn (423)282-1521.
