George Green, 55, Ex-Mail Carrier
George Green, 55, of 567 Memorial Parkway, Phillipsburg, died yesterday afternoon in Warren Hospital where he was a patient five weeks.
Mr. Green was a mail carrier for the Phillipsburg Post Office for 23 years. He retired 5 ½ months ago because of ill health.
Born in Easton, he was a son of Elijah Green, now of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and the late Susan E. Sampson Green.
He was a member of Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was graduated from Easton High School in 1932.
Survivors include his widow, the former Catherine Lawler, and a brother, William S., St. Petersburg.
The funeral will be held at 8:15 a.m. Saturday at the Finegan Funeral Home, Phillipsburg, followed by a Requiem High Mass at 9 a.m. in Sts. Philip and James Church, Interment will be in the church cemetery. |
