William Gould, I-R Engineer, Lafayette Grad
William G. Gould, 79, of 107 Fifth Str. Morris Park, died Saturday night at Warren Hospital where he had been a patient since last Wednesday.
Mr. Gould retired from the Ingersoll-Rand Co. in May 1953. He had been an engineer in the compressor division. He was employed by Ingersoll for 31 years.
A graduate of Easton High School, Mr. Gould received a degree in mining engineering from Lafayette College in 1914. He lived in Bethlehem for about 25 years and also lived in Easton before moving to the Morris Park address.
Mr. Gould was born in May 2, 1888, in Perry, N.Y. a son of the late Herbert and Elizabeth Hilliard Gould. During World War I he served as an ensign in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Gould was of the Lutheran Faith. A mason, he belonged to the Easton Lodge 152, F & A.M. ; Hugh DePayens Commandery 19, Knights Templar, Easton; West Jersey, Shrine Club; Almas shrine, Washington D.C., and the Square Club of Ingersoll-Rand.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Nellie Moyer Gould, he is survived by his wife, the former Lillian Hammet Griffin.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Hagerty Colonial Home, Phillipsburg. |
