Edward Garis
Edward Garis, a well-known Easton butcher, died unexpectedly
at 5:15 o'clock yesterday morning in Easton Hospital where
he was admitted at 6:40 Saturday evening for surgical treatment.
Mr. Garis resided at 804 Centre Street. He was formerly employed
as a butcher in the American Stores, worked at the store of
Robert Williamson for about eight years and of the late had
been working at the Steaber store in Phillipsburg. He had been
ill for about a week
Mr. Garis was a native and lifelong resident of this city
and was a son of the late Philip and Matilda Garis. The late
George Garis, a member of the Easton Fire Department, who died
about seven years ago, was a brother of the deceased.
He is survived by his wife, and two sisters, Mrs. John Rice,
of Easton, and Mrs. Edward Romemus, of Nesquehoning, PA. He
was a member of the Second M.E. Church and Columbia Lodge,
No. 139, I.O.O.F. |
