Duane M. Fehr
... Duane M. Fehr, 72, of Hamilton Township, died early Wednesday morning, July 27, 2005 at Easton Hospital, Easton.

Born: On December 26, 1932 in Easton, he was a son of the late Melver and Jeanette Keiffer Fehr. Personal: He was the husband of the former Marilyn M. Hooper, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage at the time of her death on January 19, 2001.

He lived in Monroe County since 1964, moving there from Nazareth. Duane was a Sergeant in with the Stroudsburg Police Department until retiring after 23 years of service and was its first police canine officer. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the Army.

Memberships: He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stroudsburg. He was also a member of the J. Simpson Africa Lodge #628 F&AM, the Fraternal Order of Police Stroud Lodge #75, the Cherry Valley Rod and Gun Club, the National Rifle Association and and the Thomas Lambert Post #2540 VFW, East Stroudsburg. An expert marksman, he was active in the Police Olympic Shooting tournaments.

Survivors: He is survived by two sons, **** and his wife, ****, **** and his wife, **** of Stroudsburg; four daughters, *****, ***** and her husband, ****, **** and her husband, ****, all of Stroudsburg, **** and her husband, ***** of Effort; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; a sister, ***** of Saylorsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 3 p.m. in the church, North 9th Street, Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Gail H. Kees officiating. Graveside services and burial will be on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg. Cremation will have taken place at the H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
