Lawrence H. Detweiler, 76, of Palmer Township, died Thursday,
Nov. 28, 2002, in Easton Hospital after being stricken while
attending the Easton-Phillipsburg football game.
Born: Nov. 28, 1926, in Easton, a son of the late Kinsey S.
and Mae H. Henzelmen Detweiler. Personal: His wife, the former,
Gladys L. Breidinger, died on Feb. 23, 2000. He was a 1945
graduate of Easton High School, where he played on the football
team. He served in the Army during World War II. He retired
in 1989 from the James River Corp. in Wilson Borough, where
he was employed for 42 years. He was an avid sports fan.
Memberships:He was a member of Palmer Moravian Community Church
in Palmer Township. He was a member and committee member of
Forks of the Delaware Chapter Ducks Unlimited, a 50 year member
of Lester Pfeffer American Legion Post 611 in Easton and a
member of the Varsity E Club.
Survivors: two sons, *****, with whom
he resided and *****.; a brother, ***** in Florida; four grandchildren,
and two great-grandsons. A brother, John, died earlier.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday in the church, John Street and Moravian
Avenue, Palmer Township. Call from 10 a.m. to time of services
Monday in the church. Burial will be in Belfast Union Cemetery
