Ray L. Clause, 94, of Alexandria Manor, Allentown, formerly of Bethlehem,
died May 27 in ManorCare Health Services II, Bethlehem. He was married
to Z. Gertrude (Donaghy) Clause for 73 years last August.
He was a metallurgist for Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 42 years before
retiring in 1972.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Harvey and Hannah (Lerch)
Clause.
He was a member, former trustee and head usher of Fritz Memorial United
Methodist Church, Bethlehem.
He was a member of the Men of Retirement Age Club, Bethlehem, and
a volunteer for 3,500 hours at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill.
In the 1950s, he was active in Civil Defense.
Survivors: Wife; sons, Kenneth T. of Metuchen, N.J., David R. of Falls
Church, Va.; daughter, Gloria C. Lauer of Allentown; eight grandchildren,
seven great-grandchildren.
Services: 1 p.m. Thursday in the church. Call noon to 1 p.m. Thursday
in the church. Arrangements, Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
