He was the husband of the late Grace H. (Clause) Gergar. He worked in the rolling mills at Bethlehem Steel Corp. for more than 40 years before retiring in 1977. He was also a former part-time police officer in Freemansburg in the 1960s. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Alex and Fannie Gergar.
