Mrs. Frank Hess, Active in Area Women's Groups
Mrs. Elizabeth Borwn Hess, 82, a former president of several Easton Women's Organizations, died at 11:20 a.m. yesterday in Easton hospital. She was admitted June 8.
Mrs. Hess recently lived at the Htel Huntington, Easton, and previously at 612 Walnut Ave.
She was the first president of the Easton Chpater, Mothers of 117, and was a past president of the auxiliary of Lt. E. C. Baker Post 1290, Beterans of Foriegn Wars, and of Camp 83, PO of A. She also was a member of the auxiliaries of Brown and Lynch American Legion Post 9 and the Northampton County Voiture, 40 et 8.
Her son, Truman Stanley Hess, died in 1918 during his service in France with the American Expedictionary force.
Mrs. Hess was born in Nazareth Aug. 3, 1873, a daughter of the late Jack and Catherine Borwn. Her husband, Frank, died in 1900. She was of the Lutheran faith. She was employed earlier in her life in several Easton area silk mills.
A son, Clarence, Wilson, survives. There are three nephews in Easton.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Adams Funeral Home, Easton. |
