EX-EASTON GOP LEADER, CIVIL SERVICE BOARD MEMBER
Aubrey R. Bougher, 78, who led the Republican party organization in Easton from 1968 to 1980, died Thursday in Easton Hospital after being stricken in his home. He was the husband of Gertrude (Rice) Bougher. They were married 52 years last October.

He was employed by Bell and Howell, Phillipsburg, for 35 years, retiring in 1980 as chief production engineer.

Born in Easton, he was a son of the late Harvey R. and Mary (Todd) Bougher.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Easton, and a former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Riegelsville, where he was a tenor in the choir for many years.

Besides chairing the city Republican party, he was a member of the Northampton County party's executive board, and had served on the Easton Civil Service Board.

Survivors: Wife; daughter, sons, sister, Bernice Behm of Palmer Township; brother, Gilbert, of Ocala, Fla., and four grandchildren.

Services: 11:15 a.m. Monday, Strunk Funeral Home, Berwick and Reynolds streets, Easton. Call 10-11 a.m. Monday.
