Russell Bonstein, was I-R erecting engineer
Russell H. Bonstein of 1619 Liberty St. Wilson, died Sunday in Easton Hospital. He was in failing health the last year and a half.
He was an erecting engineer for Ingersoll-Rand Co. for many years, retiring in 1968.
Born in Easton, he was a sonof the late Howard and Annie Young Bonstein.
On Nov 8, 1916, Mr. Bonstein started with Ingeraoll-Rand in teh Easton plant as an apprentice toolmaker. He left the company in March 1921. He returned to Easton where he worked as a toolmaker from February 1927 uhntil April 1927 and later as a silk weaver. In July 1934 he ggan working in I-R's compressor division, first as a floorhand and subsequentlyas assembler, leadman and serviceman. On May 5, 1965, he was transfrred to the condenser division as an erection engineer where he remained until retiring.
Mr. Bonstein was a member of First Evangelical Congregational Church, Easton, and Easton Forest 35, Tall Cedars of Lebanon. He was a 50-year member of Dallas Lodge 386, F&AM, Easton.
Surving are his wife, the former Agnes Bittner; two daughters, ******, Wilson, and ******, Palmer Township, and a granddaughter.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Ashton Funeral Home, Eason, Interment will be in teh Northamnton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Township. |
