Miss Bisbing Bride of Herman Menikheim
Popular Easton Couple Married By Rev. Allan S. Meck in York
York, PA., Mar. 30 - Miss Ruth Marguerite Bisbing and Herman
J. Menikheim, both of Easton, motored here today and were
married by Rev. Allen S. Meck, pastor of Trinity first Reformed
church. They were unattended.
Miss Ruth M. Bisbing is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest
E. Bisbing, of 300 Liberty street, Glendon Heights. She attended
Easton High School and after leaving school during the past
seven years was employed as a clerk in the office of the
city treasurer.
H.J. Menikheim has been a police officer for 15 years, serving
in every capacity but chief on the Easton police force. For
six years prior to January 1, last, he was captain of detectives,
and is now on a leave of absence from that position while
he is serving as chief county detective. He is the son of
Mrs. Caroline and the late Martin Menikheim, of 423 Packer
street, South Side. He also attended Easton High School.
After the ceremony which was performed by Rev. Allan S.
Meck, former pastor of St. Mark's Reformed Church in Easton,
Mr. and Mrs. Menikheim left on a motor tour of Shenandoah
Valley, plan to to return by way of Virginia and Washington,
D.C. They also plan a visit to the Endless Caverns.
Mr. and Mrs. Menikheim will be home after April 11 at 513
Center street.

Ruth M. Menikheim, Was prison matron
Ruth M. Menikheim, 81, of 1320 Butler St., Easton, died this
morning in Eastwood Convalescent Home, Wilson, where she
was a quest the last two months.
She was employed by the Easton Bureau of Water in the 1930's
and again in 1952, until retiring. She was also a matron
of Northampton County Prison from 1944 to 1948.
Born June 15, 1900, in Easton, she was a daughter of the
late Forrest and Nellie Wren Bisbing.
Mrs. Menikheim was a member of First United church of Christ,
Easton; William Parsons Chapter No. 185, Order of Eastern
Star, and the King's Daughters, Easton.
Her husband, Herman J. Menikheim, former captain of the
Easton Police Department, died in 1952. He also served as
chief detective in Northampton County and as prison warden
and court tipstaff.
Surviving are a son, a brother, Edward L. Bisbing, Glendon
Heights, and three granddaughters.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in First UCC Church.
Interment will be in Hay's Cemetery, Easton. The Clements
Funeral home, Easton, is in charge of arrangements. |
