Clair G. Bennett Sr. -- Dixie Cup retiree
Clair "Ted" G. Bennett, Sr., 87, formerly of Williams
Township, died Saturday, Dec. 5, in Gracedale, the Northampton
County nursing home in Upper Nazareth Township. Prior to that
he was a guest at PersonaCare at Eastwood, Wilson Borough,
for three years
He was retired from the former Dixie Cup Co., Wilson Borough,
where he was employed for 45 years. He was also a part-time
farmer in Williams Township.
Born July 21, 1911, in Easton, he was a son of the late Gordon
and Minerva Moser Bennett.
He was a member of Christ Evangelical Congregational Church,
Williams Township. His wife, the former Paulynne Shepard, died
in 1977.
He is survived by a son, Clair G. Jr., a daughter, Helen B.
Rice, and a brother, Lloyd, all of Williams Township; two sisters,
June McGilton and Jessie Crusan, both of Easton eight grandchildren,
two step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
A daughter, Arlynne Bennett Gonzalez, and three sisters, Evelyn
Benzoni, Winifred Broderick and Marion Diehl, all died earlier.
Services will be held at 11 Wednesday in the Strunk Funeral
Home, Inc., 602 W. Berwick St., Easton. Call 10 to 11 a.m.
Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. John's
Union Cemetery, Williams Township. |
