George S Beam, 77, of 194 Summit Ave., Phillipsburg, died last night
at the Garden nursing home, Phillipsburg, where had been a patient since
Dec. 21. He had been ill several months.
Born Sept. 6 1886, in Port Murray, N.J. he was a son of the late John
R. and Eva Scott Beam. He had lived in Phillipsburg for 23 years.
at one time he operated a farm near Easton and worked as a guard at
the Baker Chemical Co., Phillipsburg, for 11 years, retiring in 1951.
He also was a distributor of household products.
He was a member of Wesley Methodist Church, Phillipsburg; a member
of the official board of the church and an honorary steward.
His wife, the former Lenora Nixon, died in June 1960.
Surviving are three daughters, Ethel, wife of Thomas Campbell, Mildred,
wife Richard Baltz, Nazareth RD 2, and Ruth, wife of Miles Cressman,
Phillipsburg; two brothers, John Harmony, N.J., and Seldon, Easton;
two sisters, Mrs. Anna Snook, Easton RD and Mrs. Mary Hummer, Easton;
25 Grandchildren and 35 Great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Mabel
Campbell, died in 1953 and a son, John died during the last year.
The funeral will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday in the Rupell Funeral home,
