Leon A. Lefty Yelles, 80, of Northampton, East Allen Township, died in his home Tuesday, November 29, 2005. He was the husband of Mildred M. (Wooding) Yelles, who died in 1987.

Born in Catasauqua, he was the son of the late Paul and Mabel (Fehnel) Yelles. He was a machine operator for the former St. Regis Paper Co., Nazareth, for more than 30 years before retiring in 1983. He then worked for First National Bank, Bath, as a custodian for more than three years. He was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ Church, Seemsville. He was a master Mason with Manoquesy Masonic Lodge 413, Bath. He was a member and former board member of both Blue Mountain Fish & Game Association, Danielsville and Keystone Rod & Gun Club, Bath. He also held memberships with the East Bath Rod & Gun Club, Petersville Rod & Gun Club and Point Phillips Rod & Gun Club. He served his country as a corporal in the Marine Corps during World War II.

Survivors: Son, *****, of Bath; two brothers, Alfred of Allentown, Stanley and his wife, Betty, of Allentown; sister, Mrs. Martha Seip of Allentown; granddaughter, Michelle A., wife of Gary Gower, of Bath; grandson, ***** of Bath; great-granddaughter, *****; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Renee Yelles of Northampton and Mrs. Ann Bond of Bayonne, N.J. He was predeceased by two brothers, Wilson Yelles and Norman Bond.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2005 in the Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton. Calling hours with Masonic services 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday evening and 10-11 a.m. Friday, both in the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow services in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.

Contributions: To St. Peters U.C.C. Church Memorial Fund or the American Cancer Society, both care of the funeral home.
