George W. Wilhem died yesterday afternoon of paralysis, at
his home, no. 20 Market street, Phillipsburg. The deceased
was sixty-nine years of age and is survived by his wife and
three children, William Wilhelm, of Jersey city; Mrs. Albert
Frey and Calvin Wilhelm, of Philipsburg. The deceased is
also survived by one brother, William Wilhelm, of Mauch Chunk.
The deceased was dispatcher at the Central railroad office,
Phillipsburg, for thirty-years. For several years past he
has been train dispatcher on the Lehigh and Susquehanna division.
He was a member of the K. of H., Montana Lodge, No. 23, K.
of P.; Tolmie Post, No. 50, G. A. R.; Central Railroad Relief
Association, and Delaware Lodge No. 37, A.R.C. The deceased
at one time represented the First ward, Phillipsburg, in
town council. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church,
of Phillipsburg. He enlisted in the war of the rebellion
at Mauch Chunk and became Captain of Company C., 132d Pennsylvania
Volunteers. He was born and raised in Easton and had been
a resident of Phillispburg for twenty-nine years. |
