Werkheiser Sr., Donald R.
Donald R. Werkheiser Sr., 82, of Saylorsburg, Pa, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2007 at his home with his family by his side.

Born: On September 15, 1925 in Hecktown, he was a son of the late Osbourne and Edith Kelchner Werkheiser.

Personal: Donald and his wife, the former Elizabeth "Betty" Elbie, celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on November 7th. He had served with the Navy as a radioman during World War II and Korea. Donald retired in 1987 from Hughes Printing in East Stroudsburg.

Memberships: Donald was a member of the American Legion Post 927, Gilbert, Pa, and was a member and Past Worshipful Master of Franklin Lodge 56, F& AM, Bristol, Ct. He was also a life member of the Knights Templar Eye Foundation.

Survivors: In addition to his wife Betty, he is survived by a son, Donald R. Jr. and his wife Jean of Stroudsburg; a daughter, ***** and her husband ***** of Portland, Ct; five brothers, **** of Florida, ***** of Maryland, ***** of Texas, Kenneth of East Stroudsburg, and **** of Easton; four sisters, *****, ***** and *****, all of Easton, and ****r of Georgia; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Leonard and Gerald, and two sisters, Eleanor Ehrie and Doris Teel, all died earlier. Services: Call on Friday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Strunk Funeral Home Inc., 2101 Northampton Street, Wilson Borough, Pa. Easton Lodge #152, F& AM will conduct Masonic Services at 7 p.m. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice of Monroe County, 502 Independence Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
