Richard E. Watters, 84, of Williams Township, died Monday, June 14, 2004 in the VNA Hospice at St. Lukes. Born Feb. 16, 1920 in Easton, he was a son of the late Stanley O. and Verna P. (McKee) Watters. He and his wife, the former Olive L. Schuck, celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on Feb. 1. He was a 1937 graduate of Easton High School and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired from Binney and Smith Inc. after 19 years. Prior to that, he was employed by the former Transogram Toy Co. for 20 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a former member of St. Peters United Church of Christ. He was a member of Liberty Hose Company, and a life member of Order of Fleas and Citizens Hose Company.

Survivors: His wife; sons, Richard D. and his wife, Donna, of Slatington, Walter P. and his wife, Melissa, of Pittsburgh, Thomas S. and his wife, Kathy, of Wilson; daughter, Dianne L. Dudish and her husband, Andrew, of Forks Township; brother, William in Florida; sisters, Arlene Higgins of Upper Nazareth Township, Verna Aldinger of Palmer Township, Lois Smith in North Carolina, Joanne Vogel of Bath; eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley and David.

Services: memorial, 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Strunk Funeral Home Inc., 602 W. Berwick St., Easton. No calling hours. Burial, Hays Cemetery.
