Charles Walter, 67, Slate Firm Engineer
Charles Walter, 67, of Easton R.D. 1, a slate quarry engineer,
died Saturday at 2:50 p.m in Easton Hospital, where he was
admitted on Feb. 1.
Born in Edelman on April 1, 1887, Mr. Walter was a son of
the late Lambert and Elizabeth Reeser Walter. He was a lifelong
resident of Northampton County. Mr. Walter was employed by
General Slate Co., Wind Gap. He formerly was a farmer for
many years.
Mr. Walter was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church,
Plainfield, and the Stocketown Fire Company.
Surviving are his widow, the former Sarah Flory; two daughters,
Mrs. Florence Wagner, of Stockertown, and Mrs. Robert Garr,
of Nazareth; a son, Arthur, of Nazareth; four sisters, Mrs.
Myron Gilner, of Newfoundland, Wayne County; Mrs. Elsie France,
of Easton; Mrs. Herbert Snyder, of Nazareth R.D. 2, and Mrs.
Carrie Neumeyer, of Allentown, and three granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at
the F. W. Schmidt Mortuary, Nazareth. |
