Richard L. "Larry" Walsh Sr., 77, of 38 Valley View
Circle, Phillipsburg, died Saturday in Warren Hospital. He
was the husband of Virginia E. (Williamson) Walsh, who died
in 1982.
Before retiring in 1977, Walsh was a crane operator in the
Turbo division of Ingersoll-Rand Co., Phillipsburg, for 37
years.
Born in Phillipsburg, he was a son of the late Lawrence J.
and Rosa Mabel (Cyphers) Walsh.
He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church,
Phillipsburg. A baseball coach in the area for 20 years, Walsh
coached the semi- profession al Valley View team in the Northampton
County Baseball League, and the junior, senior and midget baseball
teams in the Phillipsburg playground system. He also coached
the Slovak baseball team and the Ingersoll- Rand Steelworkers
team in the Tri-County League.
Surviving are two sons, four grandchildren and
five great- grandsons.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. There will
be no calling hours. The Rupell Funeral Home, 465 Memorial
Parkway, Phillipsburg, is in charge of arrangements. |
