Clayton Uhler, 86, Ex-Machinist At I-R
Clayton Uhler, 86, of 1221 Bushkill St., died Saturday in the Yingst Nursing Home, Quakertown, after a long illness.
He was employed as a machinist at Ingersoll-Rand Co. 50 years, retiring 14 years ago.
He and his wife, the former Myrtle Messinger, celebrated their 63 rd wedding anniversary in May.
Born April 22, 1882, in Forks Township, Mr. Uhler was a son of the late Madison V. and Catherine Schmickle Uhler.
He was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and the Knights of Malta, Easton.
Survivors include three sons, Homer I., Paoli; Kenneth M., Pittsburgh, and Frederick E., Seattle, Wash.; a daughter, Miss Louise Uhler, Easton; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Stetler and Mrs. Kathryn Chapman, both Nazareth; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Heck Funeral Home.
