Undertaker Stone Dead
Well Known Stewartsville Resident was 77 years old
John S. Stone, a well known resident of Stewartsville who was widely known throughout Warren and other counties, having been in business as an undertaker for a number of years, died at his home in Stewartsville this morning, aged 77 years. Heart trouble was the cause of his death. Mr. Stone spent all his life in Stewartsville living in the same location all the time.

Deceased was a son of the long deceased Jacob and Matilda Riegel Stone and succeeded his father in the undertaking business. For a time he was associated in the business with his elder brother, Robert K. Stone. On the death of the latter, John s. Stone and his son, Frank, continued the business.

Mr. Stone is survived by the following children: George and Miss Tillie Stone, at home; Edgar and Frank Stone, of Stewartsville, and Mrs. Arnold Fox of Lykens, Pa. A brother, Charles B. Stone; a sister, Miss Alice Stone, of Stewartsville and nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive him.

For 55 years Mr. Stone, had been a member of Stewartsville Presbyterian Church, For 34 years he served as an elder in the congregation and he was clerk of the session for 24 years. He was also a member of Council No. 281, Jr. O. U. A. M>, and the odd Fellows of Stewartsville. In the latter organization he served as past district deputy, grand master.
