Raymond Spangeberg, Retired Railroader, 71
Raymond L. Spangenberg, 71, a retired engineer on the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad, died Saturday night at his home, 78 W. Warren St., Washington.
Mr. Spangenberg had been employed by the railroad for 53 years. He had resided in Washington since his retirement in 1954.
Born in Sarepta, he was a son of the late Joseph L. and Annie Cowell Spangenberg. He formerly resided in Newark for 50 years.
His wife, Louella, died in 1953. He was a member of Oxford First Presbyterian Church, Hazen and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen.
Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. George L. Paul, Mrs. Joseph W. Shoemaker, and Mrs. Lynford Linaberry, al of Belvidere R.D. and Mrs. Melvin Rice, of Oxford, and one brother, Joseph S., of Belvidere R.D.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 2L30 p.m. at the Ford Funeral Home, Washington. |
