George A. Smith, 77, Blacksmith, Carpenter
George A. Smith, formerly of Nazareth and Wind Gap, died last night at Gracedale, Nazareth R. D. 1 He was a guest there since July, he was 77.
Mr. Smith was born March 26, 1884, in Hazleton, a son of the late Stephen and Alice Prior Smith. He lived in Nazareth Most of his life. He resided in Wind Gap the last six years.
Mr. Smith was a blacksmith and carpenter.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Nazareth, and the POS of a 445, Nazareth.
Surviving are four brothers, William E., Nazareth; Calvin B. Kellersville, and Warren P. and Earl S., both of Saylorsburg, and four sisters, Mrs. Lillian Kichline and Mrs. Grace Tremmel, both of Bethlehem; Mrs. Myrtle Schmauder, Pen Argyl and Mrs. Florence Fordner, Wind Gap. He also leaves nieces and nephews. His wife was the late Marie Long Smith.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Knecht Funeral Home, Nazareth. |
