Harry Sandt, 95: Worked at The Express 58 Years
Harry E. Sandt, 95, of 129 Fillmore St., Phillipsburg, died unexpectedly yesterday at the home of his nephew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cather, with whom he resided.
Mr. Sandt was employed in the mailing room of the Express, 58 years, retiring in 1958.
Born in Easton June 25, 1876, he was a son of the late Edwin and Etna Sandt. He lived in Easton until four years ago when he moved to Phillipsburg.
Mr. Sandt was honored recently by the MORA Club of Easton as one of its two oldest members.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg, and a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Easton. he was also a member of the Golden Age Club, Easton, and a former member of the Easton Industrial Management Club.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. May Renfrew, Vero Beach, Fla., and other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rupell funeral Home, Phillipsburg. Interment will be in Forks cemetery.
