Allen J. Sandt, of Lehighton the well-known Lehigh Valley engineer who was found unconscious in his cab on Thursday morning early near Rockdale, died last evening in St. Luke’s Hospital, to which institution he was removed after being found. The deceased was a former South Eastonian and was a son of Mrs. Sallie Ann Sandt, of South Easton and the late Peter Sandt. He leaves a widow, formerly Carrie Benz, daughter of the late Guthard Benz of this city, and two children, Edith and Florence. Two brothers J. Madison Sandt and Oliver P. Sandt, of Easton and son sister, Mrs. Elmer Klechner of South Easton, also survive. The deceased was an Odd Fellow, a member of the Encampment, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Malaska Council No. 4, Jr. O.U. A. M, of Phillipsburg.
