Shirlee A. Voorhees
Shirlee A. Voorhees, 82, of Stewartsville, Greenwich Township,
NJ, passed away Monday, April 3, 2006 at her home. Born:
On August 27, 1923 in Phillipsburg, she was a daughter of
the late Edward and Jessie Cruikshank Rush.
Personal: Her
husband of 62 years, Donald M. Voorhees, passed away in
August of 2005. A resident of Greenwich Township for the past
55 years, Shirlee was the first director of the Warren County
Nutrient Program in Belvidere. She served as director of
the program for 25 years, until her retirement. She graduated
from Phillipsburg High School, Class of 1942. She enjoyed
gardening, and did many things for many peoples. She was
always there for everyone.
Memberships: She was a member
of Greenwich Presbyterian Church, Greenwich Township,
NJ.
Survivors: She is survived by a daughter, four nieces;
and three nephews. A brother, Edward Rush, died earlier.
Services: Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11
a.m. in the church, 17 Greenwich Church Road, Greenwich Township,
NJ. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Greenwich
Cemetery, Greenwich Township, NJ.
