Raymond E. "Raybo the Clown" Round, 65, of 958 Park Estates Road, Wind Gap, formerly of Bethlehem Township, died Monday in Easton Hospital. He was the husband of Thelma R. (Hess) Round, who died in 1984.
Round was a professional clown in the Lehigh Valley for the past 20 years, performing at Orr's of Bethlehem, the Palmer Park Mall and at birthday parties and other occasions.
In addition, he was a meter reader for the Easton Suburban Water Authority for 15 years, retiring in 1986. Before that he was a milkman for the former Suncrest Farms, Bethlehem.
Born in Easton, he was a son of the late Russell S. Round and Bertha M. (Stem) Round Holdsworth.
Round was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific.
He was a past president of the Poco Ski Club, Easton.
Survivors: Son, Randy R., with whom he resided; brother, Russell S. Jr. of Pittsburgh; stepmother, Cora E. (Behringer) Round of Nazareth; stepsister, **** of Palmer Township, and four grandchildren.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton streets, Easton. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday. |
