Oscar J. Mutchler, Former County Official, Dies
Oscar Jacob Mutchler, 78, years old, an Easton Attorney and
former Court House official of Spring and Iron Streets, west
Easton, died at 9:30 this morning after illness of a year and
a half.
He was born at Chain dam, Dec 19, 1864, a son of the late
Valentine and Susan Mutchler, and was graduated from Lafayette
in 1886. He was admitted to the Northampotn County bar in 1891.
He served as Deputy Sheriff from January 1902 to April, 1905,
and was County Treasurer, from 1906 to 1909. He served as deputy
treasurer under Granville Hahn.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Jacksonian
Democratic Association.
Two sisters survive him, Miss Hattie M. and Miss F. May Mutchler,
living at home and one brother, Frank Mutchler of Bayonne,
NJ. |
