Walter Miller, 29, World War II Vet, Dies in Hospital
Walter Miller, 29, of 506 Grant Street, South Side, a former
Sergeant in the U.S. Army, recently discharged, died last night
upon admittance to Easton Hospital. His death was the result
of a spinal condition.
Miller was born in Easton, Nov 18, 1916, son of Walter S.
and Mildred Garis Miller, of 506 Grant Street. He was a member
of St. Peter's Evangelical Reformed Church, South Side.
He enlisted in the Army, Nov 17, 1941, and served as sergeant
in the 1535 Ordnance Supply and Maintenance Company, Aviation,
and received his discharge from Indiantown Gap Military Reservation,
on June 29, this year.
Miller served in Algeria, French Morocco, Tunisia and Naples-Foggia
Medal, American Defense Service Medal, and the European-African-Middle
Eastern Service Medal with three bronze stars.
He is survived by his parents, and his wife, Mrs. Ruth Lake
Miller, of the Grant street address; and two brothers, Harold
R. Miller, of Easton and Carl L. Miller, of Springfield, Mass. |
