Elwood R. Michael, 89, of East Allen Township, died Thursday, November 18, 2004 in Moravian Hall Square, Nazareth. He was the husband of Corrine V. (Hess) Michael, they observed 66 years of marriage September 24. He owned and operated the oil business his father started, E.R. Michael Fuel Co., Bath, from 1951 until his retirement in 1981. He was a World War II veteran of the Navy, where he served in the Philippines. He was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ, Seemsville. He was a life member and past president of the Bath Lions and a life member of the American Legion Post 470, Bath, Keystone Rod & Gun Club and Star Grange 993, Moorestown.
Survivors: In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, **** and his wife, *****, of Moore Township; daughter, ***** and her husband, *****, of Nazareth; brothers, ***** of Bath and ***** of Catasauqua; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Green.
Services: military, 11 a.m. Monday, November 22, 2004 in St. Peters U.C.C. Church, 8141 Valley View Drive, Seemsville, with interment to follow in the church cemetery under the direction of the George G. Bensing Funeral Home Inc. Viewing will be held on Sunday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. in the funeral home and 10-11 a.m. Monday in the church.
