Edward Y. Kitchen
Edward Y. Kitchen died this morning at his home 1233 Washington
Street, after a week's illness from pneumonia, he was born
in Easton on May 20, 1842, the son of the late Ambrose and
Anna Kitchen, both of whom died in 1880. He was married to
Anna Cougle, of South Easton on May 30, 1864.
He served two enlistments during the Civil War as a member
of Company K, One Hundred and Twenty-ninth Regiment, Pennsylvania
Volunteers, and Company I, Twenty-Eighth Regiment Pennsylvania
Volunteers. He was a member of Lafayette Post No 217 G.A.R
and Red Wing Tribe, I.O.R.M. and at one time he was a member
of the Human Fire Company. For many years he resided on the
South Side Being employed for 50 years as a machinist at the
Lehigh Valley Shops.
For some years he served as a school director on the South
Easton School Board. He was well known and highly respected
and leaves a host of friends to mourn his loss.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, Frank, Harry, William
and three daughters, Mrs. John Miller, Mrs. William Seigfried
and Cora, all of Easton and by four grandchildren and great
great grandchildren. One brother, Benjamin F Kitchen of Brooklyn
also survives. |
