Joshua J. Kiefer, 84, of 1227 Echo Circle, Whitehall Township, formerly of Easton, died Wednesday in his home. He was the husband of the late Mary E. (Vaughn) Kiefer.

Lehigh County Coroner Robert C. Weir attributed death to natural causes.

A graduate of Kutztown University and Muhlenberg College, he was employed at the Fairview School, Wilson, retiring in 1963 as a principal. Before that, he was a teacher at the Centerfield School, Martins Creek.

Born in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late James and Lillie (Boyer) Kiefer.

He was a member of Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua.

Kiefer was a Navy veteran of World War I.

Surviving are two daughters, ****, wife of ***** of Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada, and ***** of West Hartford, Conn.; a brother Forrest of Chandler, Ariz., and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in the church. Calling hours will be 7-8:30 p.m Saturday in the John H. Brubaker Funeral Home, 3rd and Walnut streets, Catasauqua.
