Joseph W. Kiefer, of Durham, died last night at 6:35 o'clock in Quakertown Hospital. He had been ill the last six years and he was in the hospital since Friday. He was the son the late Samuel and Mary Hahn Kiefer.

Mr. Kiefer was a retired employee of the Riegel Paper Mill, and was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Ferndale, Martina Castle No. 285, Knights of the Golden Eagle, of Keller's Church, and the West End Council, No. 280, F. P. A., of Easton.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Estella Ealer Kiefer; two children, Mrs. Clarence Riegel, of Plainfield, N.J., and Stanley Kiefer, of Center Valley; seven grandchildren; two brothers and a sister, John Kiefer, of Rochester, N.Y.; Frank Kiefer, and Mrs. Earie Helm, both of Easton.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from St. Luke's Lutheran Church,. Ferndale. Interment will be in Ferndale Cemetery.
