J. Morris Keifer retired as teacher in Berks county
J. Morris Kiefer, 78, of Bangor R.D.4, a retired teacher died
Saturday in Gracedale. He had been in failing health the past
four years.
Born in Lower Mount Bethel Township, he was a son of the late
Albert and Elizabeth Kollander Kiefer.
Mr. kiefer, who taught for 41 years, was last employed by
the Perry Township School District i Shoemakersville, Berks
County. He retired in 1966.
A 1926 graduate of East Stroudsburg Normalo School, he was
a member of Mount Zion United Church of Christ, Martins Creek;
Portland Lodge No. 311, F & AM; Lehigh Consistory of Allentown;
Rajah Temple of reading, and Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Easton
Forest No. 35.
He also was a member of the Retired Public School Employees
Association of Northampton County and a life member of the
Pennsylvania State Retired Teachers Assoiciation.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Helen Holland of Bangor R.D.
4, a niece and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Reed
Funeral Home in Johnsonville. Interment will be in Belvidere
Cemetery. Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. Monday at
the funeral home. |
