John P. Hahn, 80, Williams Twsp. Resident, Dies
John P. Hahn, 80, well known florist and gardener of Easton R. D. 4, one of the most active and public spirited citizens of Williams Township died at 1:45 this morning at his home after an illness of three years. Since Christmas he has been confined to the house and since April to his bed.

He was born Nov. 30, 1863 in Williams Township, a son of William H. and Maria Hahn, He was a florist and gardener all his life and had a stand at the Circle Market in Easton for 35 years. Early in his life he had a milk route on the South Side, this city, and was in business in Philadelphia for five years.

He was active in the civic affairs of the township, served as justice of the peace, was township auditor for eight years and was for many years a road supervisor and school director.

He was a member of Christ Evangelical Congregational Church, Williams Township, served as an officer and superintendent of the Sunday school for 50 years, was also a trustee and was lay representative of the congregation at numerous sessions of the annual conference and served on important committees.

He was a member of Easton Lodge, No. 192, F. and A. M.; a life member of Columbia Lodge, No. 139, I.O.O.F; and a member of Black Knight Commandery, No. 109, Knights of Malta and Manitobah Tribe, No. 125. I. O. R. M.

On May 22, of this year, Mr. Hahn and his wife, May L. Elman Han, celebrated the 56th anniversary of their wedding.

He is survived by his widow and one sister, Mrs. Emma Jacoby of the South Side; three foster grandchildren, of the Rev. C. Preston Kichline and their late foster daughter, Mrs. Grace Kichline. They are Mrs. Caroline Scanlin, wife of the Rev. H. Scanlin, of Mohnton; Mrs. Jessie Hawk, the wife of Ray Hawk, of Allentown and Ferne Kichline, who resides with her father in Reading. There are also three foster great-grandchildren and a large number of nephews and nieces, two of whom, Mrs. Ida Moser and Mrs. Edith M. Amy, reside at the old homestead.

The funeral will be held on Friday at 2:30 p.m. with services in Christ Evangelical Congregation (Blue) Church, Williams Township and Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. The Rev. Richard D. Miles, the pastor, will be in charge of the services and the sermon will be preached by the Rev. DR. E. S. Woodring, former bishop and now pastor of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Allentown.
