Mrs. Grace Bisbing, Former Democratic Official in Easton
Mrs. Grace Bisbing, 90, a life long resident of Easton and
former Democratic Committee woman of the 12th Ward, died
last night in Easton Hospital. She lived at 915 W. Berwick
St.
Mrs. Bisbing and her husband, Charles D Bisbing who died in
1961, operated a grocery store at the Berwick street address
for many years.
Born Feb 8, 1877, in Easton, she was a daughter of the late
John and Martha Horton Garis.
She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ; Rosalind
Circle, Companions of the Forest of America, The Loyal Order
of Reindeer, and War Mothers of World War II.
Mrs. Bisbing, who served as Chaplin, trustee and deputy of
the Companions of the Forest of America, was honored in September
1965 at the 61st anniversary celebration of the Rosalind circle.
She was instrumental in formation of the unit's degree team
and served as the team's captain. She was past supreme chaplain
of the national organization.
Surviving is a son, Charles S, manager of the Abraham Lincoln
Hotel, Reading, a granddaughter, two great-grandchildren and
nieces and nephew.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Strunk
Funeral Home, Easton. Rosalind Circle will conduct services
at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. |
