Her husband Albert Peifer, died in 1940. Mrs. Peifer, the daughter of the late John and Martha Horton Garis, was a lifelong resident of Easton, and was a member of Olivet Presbyterian Church. Surviving are three sons, Edward, of Plainfield, N.J.; John A., of Lebanon, and David W. Peifer, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Alma Sigafoos, of Easton, and Mrs. Miriam Butler, of Glendon; six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Garis, and two sisters, Mrs. Grace Bisbing and Mrs. Henrietta Gary, all of Easton.
